A Campus Culture of Intellectual Freedom: How Trustees Can Help

September 13, 2019 | All Day

Allegheny College

Join ACTA for a seminar designed specifically for higher education trustees and senior leadership. This seminar will focus on the leadership role of trustees in promoting free speech on college campuses.

Illuminated by a keynote address from former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge, the goal of the seminar is to develop a deeper understanding of the philosophical and institutional underpinnings of free speech in the education of our country's future leaders. Toward that end, the program is designed to prompt creative and productive thinking about effective strategies to ensure that higher education prepares students for the challenges of citizenship in a free society.
