March 17, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC—Today the American Council of Trustees and Alumni launched the first segment of “Higher Ed Now,” a series of podcasts to help college and university trustees better perform their important duties as representatives of the public.

The first podcast in the series  presents the groundbreaking report “Governance for a New Era,” the product of a summit of distinguished higher education leaders that focused on finding innovative solutions to the many issues confronting our colleges and universities.

The podcast features Benno Schmidt, Chairman of the CUNY Board of Trustees; Tom McMillen, former U.S. Congressman and Regent of the University System of Maryland; John Engler, President of the Business Roundtable and former Governor of Michigan; and Richard DeMillo, Director of the Center for 21st Century Universities at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

All four speakers are signatories of the report.

Other signatories include former U.S. Senator and past President of the University of Colorado Hank Brown; President of Arizona State University Michael Crow; and former Florida Lt. Governor and Chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Frank Brogan. More information about “Governance for a New Era” can be found here.
