Today, the Committee on Education of the Oklahoma Senate considered legislation, Senate Bill 1725, which would strengthen free speech protections on public college and university campuses by mandating that all security fees must be levied in a content-neutral manner. SB 1725 would also require free speech training for all first-year students. Steven McGuire, ACTA’s Paul & Karen Levy Fellow in Campus Freedom, submitted written testimony. SB 1725 was reported favorably out of committee by a vote of 9-2.
