ACTA Testimony Before Congress

On April 29, Steven McGuire, ACTA’s Paul & Karen Levy Fellow in Campus Freedom, was invited to testify before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development. The hearing, titled “Speech or Silence? The Future of the First Amendment in Higher Education,” examined the current state of free speech on American campuses. Dr. McGuire’s testimony assessed how institutions are performing relative to ACTA’s Gold Standard for Freedom of Expression and outlined concrete steps that college and university leaders can take to foster a robust culture of free speech and open inquiry.”
