Members of ACTA’s Donor Societies are a select group of individuals whose efforts help determine the future course of higher education. They receive regular insider advisories as well as invitations to exclusive ACTA events. In recent years, speakers at our special donor events have included former governor of Indiana Mitch Daniels, historian Gordon Wood, CUNY board chair Benno Schmidt, and First Amendment scholar Philip Hamburger. ACTA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and all contributions to ACTA are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Members of the Scholar’s Society provide foundational support for ACTA’s essential programs, catalyzing our efforts to restore academic excellence, academic freedom, and accountability at America’s colleges and universities. Members receive recognition for their contributions in ACTA’s annual report and an invitation to one exclusive ACTA event each year. Additionally, they receive a copy of our mid-year and end-of-year impact reports and a subscription to ACTA’s quarterly newsletter, Inside Academe.
Members of the Trustee’s Society enable the expansion of our Trustees and Government Affairs program, allowing us to participate in governance symposiums and lead training workshops with university trustees and leaders. Trustee’s Society members receive two complimentary tickets to ACTA’s ATHENA Roundtable Conference and Gala as well as recognition for their contributions in the gala program.
Members of the President’s Society sustain ACTA’s work at the major gift level, funding our publications, surveys, and other initiatives to renew American higher education. President’s Society members receive an invitation to an annual webinar with ACTA President Michael Poliakoff and key educational leaders to discuss the latest trends in higher education and ACTA’s recent achievements. Additionally, members receive a book authored by one of ACTA’s Heroes of Intellectual Freedom or other notable leaders in liberal arts education.
Members of the Chairman’s Society empower new ACTA initiatives, supporting our work at the highest level. Members receive invitations to exclusive events with ACTA President Michael Poliakoff and guest speakers, including ACTA’s annual board of directors dinner in October, which provides the opportunity to meet one-on-one with key educational leaders.

Legacy Society members drive ACTA’s work into the future—creating a legacy that will last. ACTA has a number of naming opportunities, scholarship and fellowship funds, and long-term projects to honor and commemorate the members of our Legacy Society.
