ACTA announced Nadine Strossen as the 2024 recipient of the Philip Merrill Award for her lifelong defense of free expression and liberal education. ACTA secured a major policy win in Virginia when Governor Glenn Youngkin vetoed a bill that would have weakened public trustees’ duty to serve taxpayers. In a February episode of ACTA’s Higher Ed Now podcast, George Will offered a sharp critique of the politicization and intellectual decline in American higher education. ACTA also endorsed H.R. 7683, a federal bill that would tie campus free speech protections to eligibility for Title IV funding.
