At ATHENA 2024, ACTA gathered over 100 academic leaders to examine the role of higher education in preserving a free society. ACTA’s counsel was read into the Congressional Record during debate on the “End Woke Higher Education Act,” reinforcing our leadership in defending campus expression. At the National Press Club, Vanderbilt Chancellor Daniel Diermeier affirmed institutional neutrality as key to addressing campus unrest. ACTA also honored Nadine Strossen with the Philip Merrill Award and named Harvard economist Roland Fryer the 2024 Hero of Intellectual Freedom.
