ACTA is “the most important and creative organization in higher education, one that supports high academic standards, academic freedom, and institutional accountability,” says Benno Schmidt, Chairman of the City University of New York Board of Trustees. Our 2010 Annual Report celebrates ACTA’s 15th year advancing its mission, and reflects on major accomplishments including helping public colleges and universities adapt to a challenging fiscal environment.

WHO WE ARE

Launched in 1995, we are the only organization that works with alumni, donors, trustees, and education leaders across the United States to support liberal arts education, uphold high academic standards, safeguard the free exchange of ideas on campus, and ensure that the next generation receives an intellectually rich, high-quality college education at an affordable price.
