New Data: Students Ready to Learn, but Colleges Fail to Require Essential Classes
While general knowledge remains poor, ACTA’s arts and sciences survey shows that students have a strong appetite for learning.
ACTA’s 2017 ATHENA Roundtable gathered leading scholars and reformers to address current challenges facing higher education, with a focus on restoring free expression and academic excellence. ACTA welcomed Edwin Williamson to our board, released new editions of What Will They Learn? and How Much Is Too Much?, and honored University of Chicago President Robert Zimmer with the Philip Merrill Award. ACTA also helped establish a memorial scholarship in international law and added new staff to support our growing work.
