Robert J. Zimmer, president of the University of Chicago, is the recipient of the 2017 Philip Merrill Award for Outstanding Contributions to Liberal Arts Education. He gave this acceptance speech at the Award Gala Dinner hosted by ACTA in Washington, DC.
