In Memoriam: David Koch

August 23, 2019 by Michael B. Poliakoff

David Koch, co-owner of Koch Industries, powerful philanthropist, and libertarian advocate, died this week at the age of 79 following a struggle with cancer. David Koch was a passionate supporter of higher education. Along with his brother Charles Koch, Mr. Koch gave to museums and colleges across the country. The Charles Koch Foundation, in particular, has been a positive force in higher education, creating scholarships and grants devoted to the study of the institutions of freedom that have been the engine of human flourishing.

ACTA has had the pleasure of working with bright and focused young people from the Charles Koch Internship Program over the years. Without fail, they have all been thoughtful and passionate champions of liberal education. We are saddened by the loss of Mr. Koch.
