ACTA Urges Evergreen State to Embrace Chicago Principles

WASHINGTON, DC—The American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) today sent a forceful letter to the board of trustees at Evergreen State University, warning of the consequences of inaction in light of disruptive student behavior that took place during protests on the University’s campus last year. ACTA President Michael Poliakoff urged Evergreen State University to adopt the Chicago Principles, foster a campus culture protecting freedom of speech and viewpoint diversity, and explore best practices that have been implemented by institutions like Purdue University.
