ACTA honors Columbia’s John McWhorter with the 2022 Philip Merrill Award for his defense of liberal arts and open discourse. At our first-ever Alumni Summit on Free Expression, advocates from across the country joined forces to restore free speech at their alma maters. ACTA President Michael Poliakoff delivered remarks at the signing of Florida’s higher ed reform bill, a milestone in accountability. ACTA Vice President Jonathan Pidluzny testified before Congress on the crisis of censorship in higher education. ACTA also explored the impact of NIL policies in college sports and welcomed Robert McCrum on Higher Ed Now for a rich discussion on Shakespeare’s timeless relevance.
