ACTA’s Doug Sprei chaired an intercollegiate debate on immigration at the Virginia Military Institute as part of the CD&D Alliance. In Arizona, ACTA issued its first Gold Standard Report Card, revealing both promising free speech policies and widespread viewpoint intolerance at the state’s public universities. At the December Levy Forum, historian Niall Ferguson addressed nearly 900 attendees on rising global instability and the cost of historical ignorance. ACTA also launched Campus Freedom Initiative campaigns at Pitt and Penn State, uncovering high rates of self-censorship and a strong student desire for ideological diversity.
