November 9, 2012 by Thomas M. Rollins Download PDF

Thomas M. Rollins, founder of The Teaching Company, speaks eloquently on the importance of the liberal arts and sciences, which he remarked are about everything. He delivered these remarks upon accepting the 2012 Philip Merrill Award for Outstanding Contributions to Liberal Arts Education, with tributes from Professor William Cook, State University of New York-Geneseo; Professor Daniel Robinson, Oxford University; Professor Alan Charles Kors, University of Pennsylvania; and political consultant Bob Shrum.

WHO WE ARE

Launched in 1995, we are the only organization that works with alumni, donors, trustees, and education leaders across the United States to support liberal arts education, uphold high academic standards, safeguard the free exchange of ideas on campus, and ensure that the next generation receives an intellectually rich, high-quality college education at an affordable price.
