April 9, 2021 by ACTA Download PDF

Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, ACTA made significant progress in 2020, our 25th year, in our mission to reform higher education. We guided schools to commit to safeguarding the free exchange of ideas and helped craft new and stronger state guidelines for the study of American history. Our work is a critical part of the formula to reform American colleges and universities.

Then & Now: ACTA’s 25-Year Drive to Restore the Promise of Higher Education reports on our many accomplishments in the past year and shines a spotlight on new initiatives in 2021 to protect academic freedom, promote academic excellence, and advance accountability.

WHO WE ARE

Launched in 1995, we are the only organization that works with alumni, donors, trustees, and education leaders across the United States to support liberal arts education, uphold high academic standards, safeguard the free exchange of ideas on campus, and ensure that the next generation receives an intellectually rich, high-quality college education at an affordable price.
